Pamela R. Haynes retired in 2018 after more than 30 years in the Criminal Justice System. Her work included frontline probation roles, supporting survivors of domestic violence, and facilitating domestic abuse programmes. She later became a Practice Development Assessor, supporting trainee Probation Officers on the BSc Community Justice programme, and has been a guest lecturer and examiner in Probation Studies.
Pamela is an author and speaker whose fiction shines a light on family, faith, community and the realities of domestic abuse. She is currently completing the third novel in her trilogy, Loving The Children, following the success of Loving The Brothers and Loving The Sisters. She is also contributing a fictional chapter to an academic anthology with colleagues at the University of East London exploring Restorative Justice.
In March 2023, Pamela received Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). In 2025, her work was recognised with the Extraordinary Achievers Humanitarian Award, a TEDx Speaker Award, the Kaushalya WOW Awards – Inspirational Educator, and the Women Like Me Award for Community Impact.

Held at the University of East London’s Stratford Square campus as part of the lively Newham Word Festival, the session featured acclaimed local author Pamela R Haynes (DipSW, DipHE, BA, FRSA). She read excerpts from her two novels, hosted a Q&A, and unveiled the cover of her upcoming third book.
