In her novels, which were released on July 27, 2022, novelist and former senior probation officer Pamela R. Haynes addresses this problem.
Her debut book, Loving The Brothers, was followed in 2018 by Loving The Sisters. Patti, Charmaine, and Rose create an alliance in Jamaica in Part 2 of the novel, and they decide to support one another when they go back to the UK. However, Veronica's dream concerning "fish" and warnings from celestial creatures cause the women to have second thoughts.
It's all about love, sisterhood, and loyalty in Loving The Sisters. The purpose of this book is to increase public understanding of the many types of domestic violence and the function that the probation service serves in protecting abuse victims.
Stories concerning the police department and other criminal justice organisations are written, according to the author. It is past due that someone discussed the probation service and the vital work they carry out to protect victims of domestic violence.
Senior probation officer Pamela R. Haynes retired. She has experience working with domestic violence survivors and facilitating domestic abuse programmes. For her first book, Loving The Brothers, Pam was named Author of the Year and Author of Colour in 2018. She was also shortlisted for the 2020 BLAC Best Writer Award. Recipient of The Powerhouse Global Women's Award in 2022 for her efforts in writing books that promote awareness of domestic violence, as well as a finalist for the 2022 Baton Award in the Paulette Wilson Campaigner category. In March 2023, Pamela received a Fellow designation from the Royal Society of Arts.
Loving The Sisters has been shortlisted for a Black Girls Who Write Lit Award in four categories, including Best Black Women's Fiction. For loving the sisters and brothers, the best Black Book Series. Podcast/Vlog for the Author 2 Author Podcast: New Black Author of the Year and Best Black Book Author. For her efforts in spreading awareness of domestic violence, she was nominated for both a Caribbean Global Award and a National Diversity Award in the area of Positive Role Models.
Pamela was given the opportunity to join the University of East London as a research fellow in June 2023. "The academic staff here at UEL are delighted to have a local author with criminal justice expertise and insight that she is happy to share with our research and student community," said Dr. Emma Cunningham, a senior lecturer in criminology at UEL. "We are sure that she will, as a UEL Research Fellow, continue to speak to issues of (in)equality, community, and social justice along with members of the Policing Innovation Enterprise and Learning (PIEL) Research Group."
Pamela debuted The Author 2 Author Podcast on March 8th, 2021, which is International Women's Day. She conducts interviews with international self-published authors.
